The lean platform for factory and office

Two canvases. Four maps.
One truth.

Value Stream Mapping for material flow. Makigami for office processes. Both in current and future state, with takt time, lead time and waste calculated live as you map. A process map that does the maths. An embedded Sensei that challenges it.

For Whom

Three moments when processes break faster than org charts can fix them.

Makigami works for any admin process. VSM works for any company producing goods. These tools are universal — but three trigger situations burn the loudest right now.

01

The AI Mandate

Leadership wants AI in every process by next quarter. But a model can only automate what's been mapped — point it at a chaotic process and you scale the chaos, not the output. Map the flow first, then automate the part that's actually ready.

02

The Demand Surge

Pharma, defense, medtech, energy — demand just doubled. Capacity didn't. Overtime masks the waste; mapping the flow shows where hours actually disappear so you add throughput, not headcount.

03

The Outgrown Process

You grew by patching. Ten years of workarounds, three ERP migrations, four re-orgs — and nobody can draw the current state end-to-end. Before the next change, make the chaos visible.

Consultants & Lean coaches: run LeanTheCompany across your whole client book — multi-workspace, white-label A3s, revenue share on referred seats.

Talk to us

The Problem

You don't have a people problem. You have an invisibility problem.

Every factory and every office runs on three kinds of waste that nobody writes down because nobody can see them. Until you draw them.

"Where there is no standard, there can be no kaizen." — Taiichi Ohno

01 · Chaos

Nobody knows the real process.

Ask five people to map the order-to-ship flow and you’ll get five different versions. The current-state map on the wall is three years old and two ERP migrations out of date. You’re making decisions against a process that no longer exists.

02 · Handoffs

Handoffs eat more time than the work.

The machine cycle is 40 seconds. The order spends 11 days between people, inboxes and "waiting for clarification." Speed lives in the white space, not the value-added steps.

03 · Shadow

Half the work isn't in any system.

Senior operators and admins run parallel spreadsheets, side-channel chats and heroic workarounds. When they leave, the knowledge leaves. When they stay, the knowledge never scales.

The Platform

The map that does the math.

A drawing tool draws. LeanTheCompany computes: takt time, effective cycle time, inventory cover, out-of-takt flags — live, every time the map changes. Browser-based, no consulting retainer, no six-month rollout. Start mapping in ten minutes, coach yourself with an embedded sensei trained on 25+ years of shop-floor kaizen.

Pricing — sales open 15 September

Four ways to use it. One product, built once.

We're not selling yet — we're building. Sales open 15 September. Original seats close 1 October. A hundred seats, and then the price is just the price.

One Space, one process, seen properly.

An Operational Space is one business process — mapped as it actually runs today, and as it should run instead.

You map the office flow with a Makigami and the material flow with a value stream map. You mark where the time really goes. Then you draw the future state, and the kaizen cards are the work that gets you from one to the other.

One Space holds all of it, including the record of what you tried and what happened. Add another Space for the next process. That is the whole system.

A Space doesn't get abandoned. It graduates.

Your plan sets how many Spaces you can work in at once. It does not set how many you can keep.

When a process is good enough and stable enough to run without you, that Space is finished — so you archive it. It stays readable, printable, exportable, and it never counts against your active limit again. Bring it back whenever you want. Nothing is ever deleted.

Keep everything you finish. And if you stop subscribing, you keep read-only access to all of it for two years, with export available the whole time. We’ll remind you before anything goes.

You did the work. It’s yours.

You could do this on a whiteboard. People try.

Miro, Lucidchart, a PowerPoint template — €5 to €9 a month for shapes and arrows. They're good tools. They just don't know anything.

A blank canvas doesn't know what a value stream is. It won't tell you your Makigami has a handoff loop in it, it won't turn the map into an A3 your steering group will actually read, and it won't still be there in eleven months when the consultant has gone and nobody remembers why the board was drawn that way. And when you stop paying for one of those, your boards go read-only and you're told to delete some to get back in. We don't do that. Archive what you finish, keep it forever, and if you leave you still have two years and an export button.

That's the difference. Not the canvas — what the canvas knows, and whether it's still yours.

What the price lock covers. Your Original rate is locked in for the tier you joined, for as long as your subscription remains uninterrupted. If you change tiers, the new tier will be charged at its then-current rate, while your Original Subscriber status carries over. If your subscription lapses, the locked rate ends with it. Original Subscriber status belongs to you or your company and cannot be transferred as part of a sale. Add-ons — including extra clients, additional Spaces, and Sensei top-ups — are charged at the applicable price at the time they are added.

What the archive covers. Archived Operational Spaces are free while you're a member and never count against your active limit. If you stop subscribing you keep read-only access and export for 24 months, and we’ll send two reminders before anything is removed. Export is available at any time, subscribed or not.

We’re opening applications after launch. If you’re running Lean inside a consultancy, an OEM academy or a university programme, tell me now and you’ll be first in the queue.

Growing? Add a client for €12/month — five more Spaces come with it. Need more room on the clients you have? +5 Spaces for €6/month. Sensei top-ups are €12 per 100 questions, and credits never expire.

Annual billing arrives after launch. Original Subscribers get first call — and your locked price comes with you.

Sensei runs on real AI, so we meter it — and you can top up anytime. Storage doesn't, so canvases aren't capped on team plans. No surprise bills, ever.

Founder replies within two business days — Monday to Friday, excluding Swedish public holidays and the July period.

About the Founder

Three industries. The same problem keeps surfacing. That’s why LeanTheCompany exists.

My operational career began with Tetra Pak, where I spent ten years building hands-on experience in manufacturing, operations, and continuous improvement. It was there that I developed the foundation for how I still look at a plant today — through the flow of work, the realities of the shop floor, and the gap between how a process is designed and how it actually runs.

From 2009, that experience expanded across East and Southeast Asia. With EFESO Consulting, I led and supported Lean transformations and operational improvement programs for major dairy, food, and beverage producers including FrieslandCampina, Nestlé, Danone, and Heineken, while also gaining operational experience from inside the businesses themselves.

From 2014 onward, the work broadened further across industries and geographies as an EFESO contractor leading WCOM (World Class Operations Management) and TPM implementations — from Stora Enso, SCA, and BillerudKorsnäs in forest products and packaging, to Oatly in food production, Galderma in pharmaceuticals, and Nobia in kitchen manufacturing. The work took me across Europe, Asia, China, and the United States, into very different plants, processes, and operating environments.

The companies changed. The products changed. The countries changed. The underlying problems did not. More than 25 years of diagnosing and improving operations gradually turned those recurring patterns into a method I could take into virtually any plant, in any sector — and know where to start looking.

Consultants solve this one plant at a time, at €2,000 a day. But once they leave, sustaining the improvement becomes the plant’s responsibility. I wanted to build a tool that a 26-year-old shift supervisor could open when they need it, map their own line, and walk into the next shift with a better standard — without waiting for the next consulting engagement. That’s what LeanTheCompany is.
